To get maximum effect from baghouse performance monitoring,
you need a control system that gives you more control than the standard
timer card. B3 Systems offers a PLC-based baghouse controller
that offers flexibility so that you can optimize your control.
The optimum cleaning setup saves compressed air and extends bag life.
Flexible Control Parameters
We give you a user interface that allows you to adjust all
of the parameters that affect bag cleaning. This can be an HMI
panel mounted near the baghouse, or a program that runs on your laptop
that you use when you need it. The control screen lets you:

Self-Adjusting Timing Scheme
Most pressure drop control systems don’t start
cleaning until you reach your upper limit for pressure drop, and then
they clean continuously until the pressure drop reaches a lower
limit. This approach leads to swings in your pressure drop and
flow rate. A baghouse runs much more efficiently if the swings in
pressure drop can be avoided. Our control system monitors the
pressure drop continuously and adjusts the cleaning frequency to
maintain an ideal pressure drop. When more particulate is
present, the bags are cleaned more often. When less is present,
the bags are cleaned less frequently.

Leaking Row Detection
By tying the cleaning control information to the leak
detection system, rows of bags that are causing problems can be
identified by tying leak detector alarms to the bag that is in the
cleaning mode. This also provides an early indication of problems
so that repairs can be conducted during scheduled outages.
